Stewards today inquired into the results of the analysts findings in a urine sample taken from Startsmeup following that horse winning race three at Doomben on December 19, 2009.
The Queensland Government Racing Science Centre reported the presence of the prohibited substance betamethasone. Trainer Mr Bruce Hill pleaded guilty to a charge under Australian Rule of Racing 178 in that he presented Startsmeup to race at Doomben on December 19, 2009 when a urine sample taken from that horse was found upon analysis to contain the prohibited substance betamethasone.
After taking into account all circumstances including Mr Hill’s good record a fine of $4000 was imposed.
Acting under Australian Rule of Racing 177 steward’s ordered that Startsmeup be disqualified from the QTIS 2YO Handicap and the placing were amended to:
1st Sticksy
2nd Big Ken the Celt
3rd Sequano
4th Paris Blu
5th Rapid Lecia Dane
