Proposed Local Rules of Racing
Queensland Racing Limited (QRL) has recently conducted a review of the Local Rules of Racing. The draft revised version of the Rules is attached.
While a number of specific rules have been amended, the most significant proposed change is that the Local Rules are to be published with the Australian Rules of Racing in a single document. This approach means that those Local Rules that are related to a subject addressed by the Australian Rules are grouped with those relevant Australian Rules. This allows a reader to find all rules, Local and Australian, in the one place.
In moving to this new approach, QRL identified a number of Local Rules that overlapped with Australian Rules which were able to be removed or amended, leading to fewer Local Rules in total. Certain other Local Rules have also been amended.
The Rules as published are currently in draft form. Comments are sought from interested parties in respect of the new format of the Rules or the content of any of the proposed Local Rules.
Note that the Local Rules are those in the attached document which are shaded and these are the only Rules in respect of which comment is sought.
