Our Promised Land has pace to burn but he failed to run out 1400m (Sunshine Coast) and 1300m (Toowoomba) at his last two starts in October. He benefited from a transfer north and different riding tactics to win this Townsville maiden by a head. Jockey Dale Missen settled in behind the leaders and allowed him last crack at frontrunner Atrocious to win by a head.
Our Promised Land is by Zabeel’s half-brother Count Albrecht and his dam Ask The Angels is a half-sister to 1998 BTC Doomben Stakes (LR) winner Blue Pill (Blazing Saddles). She has a yearling filly by Oaklands Stud sire Ferocity.

Boberg jumped from the outside alley in this 13 horse field and was soon camped right on the pace. Taking the lead in the straight, she refused to lie down in the straight and did best in a drawn-out duel with Craiglea Apollo to score by a long head on debut.
Boberg is the first winner for Raheen Stud sire Stromberg Carlson (Redoute’s Choice), a black-type half-brother to Testa Rossa. Her dam High Encounter has a yearling colt by Raheen sire Shovhog.

Paramount was runner-up to Piccolo Latte at Toowoomba last month, her first start since February. She stripped much fitter for this assignment on the Coast’s Cushion Track and won by two lengths in a class record 1.00.78s. Paramount is a full sister to G1 Stradbroke Handicap winner La Montagna. Their dam Millennial was a Doomben winner and she has a 2YO filly The Goddess (Antonius Pius), a yearling colt by Jet Spur and a weanling colt by Show A Heart.

Raffael Nediym was narrowly defeated by Pyramids at Doomben on November 6 and improved enough to win by a nose back at the provincials. The winner is by Widden sire General Nediym and is from a half sister to G2 Sir Byrne Hart Stakes and G3 BTC Summer Stakes winner Make Mine Magic (Canadian Silver). His dam St Leen has a 2YO colt by former Eureka Stud shuttler Piccolo.

The winner is by Danehill sire Dantibes and descends from Sun Sally (Horbury), a G2 winner of the 1977 VRC Wakeful Stakes.

After a wayward debut run, trainer Maryann Thexton applied the blinkers to Dual Chamber and the gear change paid dividends when the daughter of Show A Heart finished strongly to defeat Fairchild by a neck.
Dual Chamber is from an unraced daughter of Lady Scholar (Semipalatinsk), a three-time winner at Eagle Farm. She is a blood-sister to the dam of G2 VRC Wakeful Stakes winner Lolita Star (Jeune) and G3 Adelaide Guineas winner Berezny (Bellotto).
Dual Chamber has a yearling half-sister by Oaklands sire Break The vault.

Seven year-old mare Santa Brigita had been sidelined since April when her form was nothing to write home about. She resumed as one of the outsiders in this maiden but defied double-figure odds to defeat even-money favourite Kylie's Star by a short neck.
Santa Brigita is by Damascus line sire Aghaadir and her dam is a winning half-sister to Flemington winner Rules Galore (Kingston Rule). The winner has a yearling half sister by Sir Topaz.

Zahas Pride broke his maiden second time out at Toowoomba on November 8 and he progressed enough to complete a winning double in this Class 1 a fortnight late.
Trainer Michael Nolan is in two minds with Zahas Pride. “I don’t know whether to give him another run or give him a spell,” Nolan said following the win. “I discuss it with the owners before making a decision.”
Zahas Pride is by Kingmambo sire Zaha out of QTC Minibowl 2YO Quality winner Proud and his third dam Sierra Queen (Sovereign Edition) won a QTC McDougall Stakes.
The winner’s dam has a 2yo colt by Tycoon Ruler and she foaled a colt by Outback Prince in August.

Craiglea Blondie had won a Sunshine Coast trial in October and she did likewise on debut despite racing greenly. She is by deceased Zabeel sire Moon Rocket who stood at Stan Johnston’s Craiglea Stud in the season as grass on debut but she on her home track when she scored over 1000m last Sunday. She is by Zabeel sire Moon Rocket and is the third foal for Chinese Princess.
Craiglea Blondie is a half sister to the multiple city winning Craiglea Charm (Waterford Road). The dam recently foaled a weanling colt by Waterford Road.
