Race seven
Gobou - Trainer Mr C. Garland advised stewards that a blood test taken following the disappointing performance had returned a normal result and that the gelding appeared to have pulled up well following the event. He further advised that Gobou had resented the use of a tongue-tie during trackwork and therefore he did not intend using this gear in races. Mr Garland also advised that as Gobou had a tendency to over-race during this event it would now be his intention to instruct the rider, next start, to settle the gelding behind the pace with cover if possible.
