MACKAY TURF CLUB – 15 JANUARY 2010
Stewards today inquired into the results of a report from the Queensland Government Racing Science Centre that a urine sample, which was taken from Kamboja at the Townsville Turf Club on November 16, 2009, was found to have contained the prohibited substance naproxen.
Trainer Mr D. Hansen was found guilty of a charge under AR178 in that as the licensed trainer of Kamboja he presented that horse in race five, Rudd’s Horse Transport Class 2 Handicap 1000m, at Townsville when the urine sample taken from the horse after winning was found upon analysis to have contained the prohibited substance naproxen.
Following submissions in relation to the penalty, trainer Mr D. Hansen was fined $6,000.
Acting under the provisions of Australian Rule of Racing 177, Kamboja was disqualified from the race and the placings were amended to:
1st Apache Pup
2nd Ricochet Mountain
3rd Whisky Sister
4th Pershinko
