Stewards today inquired into the results of the analysis of a urine sample taken from jockey Ms Sheree Drake at Sunshine Coast Turf Club on Friday, January 22, 2010.
The results of the analysis of the sample indicated the presence of the prohibited substance Frusemide.
Ms Drake pleaded guilty to contravening AR81A (1) (a) in that she rode on January 22, 2010 when the results of analysis of a urine sample indicated the presence of the prohibited substance Frusemide.
Ms Drake’s licence was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) weeks starting from midnight February 4, 2010, the date on which she was stood down, up to and including midnight Friday, February 26, 2010. In considering the penalty, stewards took into account submissions put forward by Ms Drake and her guilty plea.
In accordance with AR81A (4), Ms Drake must provide a clear sample prior to being permitted to ride trackwork or in races at the expiration of the suspension.
