Back on Track radio ads win

Queensland racing was recognised recently at the 20th Annual Australian Commercial Radio Awards when Nova’s Nathan Russell was awarded with the Best Station Produced Commercial for his creative work on the ‘Racing in Queensland is Back on Track’ radio campaign.

Announced before a crowd of more than 900 commercial radio leaders and stars at Conrad Jupiters on the Gold Coast, the commercials were produced for Queensland Racing Limited welcoming racing back to Brisbane on December 1, 2007.

While racing was in lockdown many industry employees, including our jockeys, were forced to find work in other industries.

The Nova 106.9 team saw an opportunity in these alternative workplaces and with a bit of a creative licence produced three radio commercials which caught the attention of judges.

The national awards, organised by Commercial Radio Australia, cover all metropolitan, provincial and country commercial radio stations with winners announced for each of these three areas in 31 categories.
