After a series of minor placings before a spell, Herdarny was sent out favourite first-up at Callaghan Park and didn’t let his backers down when cruising to victory.
The winner is by Willowbend sire Clang (Bellotto) who completed a winning double later on the Rocky card when Lady Hybrow scored in the Heineken Plate.
Hedarny is from the family of St. Covet (Covetous), a G1 winner as a 2yo (AJC Sires' Produce) and 3yo (VATC Caulfield Guineas).

Shotime won her maiden second time out at Ipswich in March but had struggled to score in Class 1 company in the interim. Trainer Les Kelly stepped her up to 1400m for the first time and she delivered a half-length victory.
Shotime is by Marscay sire Maizcay and is a three-quarter sister to the stakes placed Gypsy Mai (Our Maizcay). She has an unraced 2YO half sister by Shovhog (Danehill) and a yearling half brother by Coolmore sire Choisir (Danehill Dancer).

Using the inside draw to her advantage, Heartland built on a maiden win at Doomben last month to score by the better part of two lengths.
The Shaun Dwyer trained mare is by Glenlogan Park sire Show A Heart and her older sister Heartline is a recent winner in Hong Kong.
Heartland also has a yearling half sister by Iglesia (Last Tycoon) and a weanling half sister by Oaklands sire Break The Vault (Redoute’s Choice).

Strongly found trouble in transit at Toowoomba on November 1 but he was all the better for that experience when beating the favourite Chillabundy by a half head a fortnight later. The Iglesia gelding is raced by Oaklands Stud’s Stewart family and is a half-brother to NZ winner Will O' The Wisp (Lion Hunter). Strongly is related to G3 AJC Craven Plate winner Lorne Dancer (Danehill Dancer) and his dam has a yearling filly by Iglesia and a foaled a Ferocity colt in September.

Crocodile Lass was placed over 2240m at Doomben behind Go General and Monchenglabach in April but she signalled an early win this prep when placed over 1350m at Ipswich last month. Her winning margin second-up was just a nose but she will only improve over longer trips. Crocodile Lass is by Semipalatinsk sire Skalato who now stands in Victoria. Her dam My Isadora was retired after foaling a sister to Crocodile Lass in 2006. The dam has been represented by 6 winners - Sky Burner (Sky Chase), Arodasi (Semipalatinsk), Chicago O'brien (Semipalatinsk), Carmona King (Semipalatinsk) and Bravisa (Brave Warrior). Second dam Taj Bell (Taj Rossi), a G2 winner of the WATC Champion Fillies, foaled 9 winners.

The locally trained maiden challenged the leaders at the furlong and ground out a determined victory in the class-record time of 1:12.05s. Upi Bay had been placed in the Sunshine Coast 2yo Classic last season and there are more wins in store for the son of Brave Warrior sire Ombra Della Sera. The winner has a 2yo sister and a yearling brother by the same stallion. The bottom half of his pedigree is highlighted by G1 winning McGinty mare Miltak (STC BMW Stakes, Auckland Cup, New Zealand Oaks).
