STEWARDS REPORT – L Hatch

Stewards today inquired into a report from The Racing Science Centre that a blood sample taken from SPACE ACE prior to winning Race 1 at Dalby on 31 May 2009 revealed that the level of Total Plasma Carbon Dioxide exceeded the threshold allowed in the Australian Rules of Racing.
Trainer Mr L Hatch was found guilty under AR178 in that he presented SPACE ACE to race at Dalby on 31 May 2009 when a blood sample taken from it prior to racing, upon analysis revealed a Total Plasma Carbon Dioxide level greater than 36MMO/L as prescribed.
In assessing penalty Stewards took into account Mr Hatch’s poor record in swab related matters and he was disqualified for 12 Months.
In accord with AR177 SPACE ACE was disqualified from race 1 at Dalby on 31 May 2009 and the Judges placing were amended to
- 1st - RADIO STAR
- 2nd – DON’T BACK DOWN
- 3rd – DANGER LANE
- 4th - CINQUA CASINO
