This notice relates to Queensland legislation for the use of Queensland Race Information (QRI) and the requirement of wagering operators to obtain authorities and pay fees.

Following amendment of the Racing Act 2002 (Act) (Qld) and regulations, race information legislation now applies in Queensland.

Please refer to the Act as amended Ch3 part 6 (Racing Amendment Act 2008 (Qld)) and Racing Amendment Regulation (No 1) 2009.

All wagering operators using QRI from any of the 3 codes of racing must

  • obtain an Authority to use QRI, and
  • where applicable, pay fees.

The Queensland legislation requires each code of racing to issue race information authorities and allows those codes to charge a fee for the use of QRI.
